Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor is a multi-hyphenate artist who developed a visionary aptitude for entertainment at a young age. Born on December 10, 1990, Taylor grew up in Harlem, New York, where she was constantly surrounded by the diversity of performing arts, which encouraged her to explore various mediums early on. She first became recognized as a dancer for her sharp and upbeat choreography. At just 15 years old, she choreographed the video for “Ring the Alarm” and later appeared as a dancer in Jay-Z’s music video for “Blue Magic.”

While still a teenager, Taylor signed a recording contract with Neptunes’ Star Trak Entertainment, marking the beginning of her career as a recording artist. She released her first single, “Google Me,” in 2008, and became more immersed in the hip-hop and rap scene after collaborating with Kanye West on his singles “Dark Fantasy” and “Hell of a Life” from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Taylor later signed a joint venture deal with Kanye West’s label GOOD Music through Island Def Jam, releasing her debut album VII in 2014. However, her viral appearance in West’s music video “Fade” propelled her into the mainstream, becoming one of the most viewed music videos of 2016.

Her music continued to gain recognition, with The Album reaching number one on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and featuring artists such as Missy Elliott and Lauryn Hill. Taylor later expanded her talents into acting, earning acclaim for her role in the 2023 film A Thousand and One and starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another (2025), earning multiple accolades, including a Golden Globe.

Beyond music and acting, Taylor has also established herself as a fashion and sneaker designer, launching a collection with Adidas that became one of the brand’s highest-selling collaborations.
