Sam Rockwell

Actor Sam Rockwell has established a distinctive career through decades of eccentric and memorable performances. Born November 5, 1968, in Daly City, California, Rockwell moved to New York after high school to pursue acting professionally. There, he enrolled in the Professional Actor Training Program at the William Esper Studio, where he began to find his voice as an actor that would later define his career. His early work spanned a variety of genres, with notable roles in films including The Green Mile (1999), Galaxy Quest (1999), and Charlie’s Angels (2000).

Rockwell’s ability to fully transform into his characters eventually led to one of his most standout roles as Officer Jason Dixon in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). His performance earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He later received another Oscar nomination for his portrayal of President George W. Bush in Adam McKay’s Vice (2018), showcasing his ability to embody vastly different personalities.

Throughout his career, Rockwell has continued taking on character-driven roles across both film and television. His diverse body of work includes Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), Iron Man 2 (2010), and the third season of The White Lotus.
